Two new DisplayLink-enabled Toshiba products at CES 2012: the dynadock U3.0 Universal Docking Station and the USB 3.0 Mobile Monitor

Here at CES 2012 you can find two new products from Toshiba using DisplayLink-enabled technology. The first is the Toshiba dynadock U3.0 Universal USB 3.0 Docking Station. Engadget did a short write-up on it and you can  view the product overview on Toshiba's YouTube page.

Its list of features include:

• Built-in video card supports two displays up to 2048 x 1152 resolution

The second new product at CES is the Toshiba USB 3.0 Mobile Monitor. Toshiba increased the screen size from 14-inches to 15.6 inches and added a USB 3.0 port that both displays and powers the monitor. The protective case also functions as a stand and storage for USB cables. In all, it makes for an easy, no-nonsense portable monitor for those looking to add an additional screen to any Windows-based computer.

PC Magazine's Natalie Shoemaker took look at it during CES 2012.

The USB 3.0 Mobile Monitor sports a 15.6-inch anti-glare widescreen that displays in a 1,366-by-768 resolution; the same as a standard laptop screen. The monitor measures one inch thick and weighs an easily portable 3.6 pounds.

Featuring the robust DisplayLink 3.0 video compression and support for resolutions up to 1920 x 1080, including 1080p, even the newest notebooks, netbooks and PCs can enjoy the benefits of multi-screen computing.

IO-DATA USB-RGB3/H USB 3.0 to HDMI display adapter is available now and retails in Japan for the equivalent of US $136, at current exchange rates.

3D Rendering Made Possible on GPUs and DisplayLink Adapters

Thanks to the researchers at Bell Labs, an experimental Linux infrastructure can now enable 3D rendering  to be performed on a GPU and displayed on DisplayLink adapters.

Laptop Magazine Follow-Up Video Review of the DisplayLink-Enabled Lenovo ThinkVision LT142

Laptop Magazine's excitement for the Lenovo ThinkVision LT1421 using DisplayLink technology continued to show through as the reviewer took to YouTube in a video review.

Here's a basic list of the portable monitor's features:

• 14.1-inch display
• 1366 x 768 resolution and matte coating
• Less than 0.5-inch-thick screen. Full dimensions are 13.2 x 8.6 x 0.85 inches 
• 1.8 pounds; 2.4 pounds with cover
• Windows and Mac compatible 

Two big draws to Lenovo's monitor is the quickness and ease of setting up the portable device through a single USB port that also provides power using DisplayLink's technology (watch @2:35). And the second, is how well the device handles HD video -- the reviewer plays a fullscreen YouTube movie trailer at 720p (watch @4:50).

DisplayLink Ships 4 Millionth Chip and Announces Downloads of 3 Hundred Thousandth App from the Apple Appstore for its iPad Extended Display Solution for PC’s

DisplayLink® today celebrated the milestone of shipping its 4 millionth chip, just 10 months after announcing it had crossed the threshold of delivering 3 million USB virtual graphics chips.

DisplayLink USB Virtual Graphics Enable Ease of Use, Daisy Chained Connections for New LG U-Series Zero Client Monitors Targeting Low-Cost Networks

The DisplayLink enabled new U-Series Network Monitor from LG offers ease of use through USB connectivity and further expands connectivity enabling users to daisy-chain up to three monitors together when running Windows MultiPoint Server operating system on a host, with each monitor acting as an independent workstation.
